Sheila Saleh Moussavi
Sheila bridges strategy and operations to cultivate effective, justice-oriented companies and work spaces. Prior to Darya Projects, Sheila co-led Bocoup as Principal/COO. She managed the team and led Bocoup’s ongoing strategic planning with the goal of aligning its business operations, resources, and practices with its mission and values. She led the development of transformational policies and practices, with particular impact in the areas of inclusive talent management, thoughtful and transparent governance, and remote team-building. As the lead consultant in Bocoup’s Advising workstream, Sheila helped partners design their organizations, strengthen their programs, and build more resilient systems and tools.
She previously held leadership positions in strategy and operations for nonprofits focused on health equity (The Health Initiative, Health Leads) and disability justice (Maryland Coalition for Inclusive Education). She was an Advisory Committee Representative to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and a Product Advisory Board member for Mozilla Developer Network. She has given invited talks on a range of topics, including scaling businesses responsibly, building more effective nonprofit boards, and engaging internal and external stakeholders on race. In 2024, she was selected as a fellow of the Brava Leadership Institute’s inaugural cohort for leaders of multiracial and multicultural organizations.
Sheila studied Political Science at Vassar College, with a focus on social movements. She received her masters degree in International Business, with a focus on Change Management, from Rennes Business School, France. Sheila is interested in the intersection of grassroots organizing and formal organizational structures, particularly how formal organizations can adopt strategies and tactics from grassroots organizing to better align their practices with their stated values.
Sarah Zarina Hakani
Sarah leverages her background in neuroscience, learning design, and emerging technologies to build processes and products that meet the needs of diverse audiences. Prior to Darya Projects, Sarah was the Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives after being a Senior Product Manager at Bocoup, managing technical product strategy, development, and launch for a range of clients, adapting to evolving market needs and trends. Throughout her work, Sarah strikes a delicate balance between optimization and longevity of business goals while building effective, custom, iterative solutions in service of people, teams, and organizations, honoring their inherent embeddedness.
Sarah has partnered with clients ranging from global leaders like Google and Deloitte, fast-paced startups including Hone and Kindred Minds, and justice-centric organizations like the Algorithmic Justice League and 18 Million Rising, building towards a more inclusive, usable, and accessible web and world. Across her projects, Sarah prioritizes transparency, openness, and iteration to ensure that all impacted voices are uplifted and reflected at every stage of the partnership. She seamlessly creates and manages agile plans to work towards complex goals, and has developed and delivered strategic roadmaps, research proposals, multi-year employee upskilling plans, data-driven product evaluations, and more. Historically, Sarah's rich technical and interpersonal skills ensure that she is able to identify and recommend product and platform improvements, influence and lead diverse project teams, and serve as a strategic, trusted, mission-driven advisor to a range of stakeholders.
Sarah graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience from Duke and went on to get her Masters in Education at Harvard, with a focus on Technology & Innovation. She teaches in the Interactive Media Arts department at NYU.
